CommX File Transfer Control Overview |
The File Transfer Control |
This control integrates with the Port Control and (if desired) the Terminal Control to provide seamless data communications using standard file transfer protocols. In this release of CommX, the protocols supported are ZModem and ASCII file transfers.
|
What it Is |
The most widely used protocol for RS-232 file transfers is undoubtedly ZModem. Unfortunately, ZModem is not a universally understaood, simple, clean protocol. Implementing ZModem on your own can be a task that would take on nightmare proportions. This is clearly a job for a library component, which is where the Greenleaf CommX File Transfer Control comes into play. |
Origin |
The CommX File Transfer Control is based on the widely used and proven body of code that has been finely tuned over the years in the best-selling Greenleaf CommLib and Comm++ products. C and C++ programmers have been using this code successfully for years. Placing the code in an ActiveX control makes it even easier to use. |
Flexibility |
Like the other two controls in CommX, most of the options and features in this control can be set up using either the built-in property pages or programmatically. The persistence of the features makes design time setup a breeze, and makes it easy to modify and save features. |
Features you Need |
This lists just a few of the many features of the CommX File Transfer Control. Go to the Map, then select File Transfer Interface Details to see how you use it.
|
Progress... |
In addition, the File Transfer Control has a standard progress window that integrates seamlessly with existing programs. The progress window provides valuable feedback that gives end users the assurance that their communications software is really working! |
