One of the examples shipped With the product, showing a terminal, port control, and some controls. The idea Is to show you how to get started. The same example is shipped For Visual Basic 5 And 6, Visual C++ 5 And 6, And a Number of other development platforms. Here we've connected to a modem and issued "ATI4", gotten the modem's response (this is at 230 Kbaud) and then clicked a button that sends a nonsensical String a few times And Is echoed back by the modem.

Port Control Property pages 

You can see the property pages in these ways:

  • Call PortCtl.Configure
  • Right click the control on your form (control must be visible)

The first screen shot Is the Port Control's main Property Page. From here you can control the serial port's configuration.

The Second Port control property page lets you control the state of signals to the attached (modem or) device.

The last Port Control property page deals With selections For ports listed And lets you Set a local echo property.
