- The Statistics window provides an overview of data link activity.
- Notice the three tabs on this dialog. You can select whether to view the statistics over the entire session, the contents of the capture buffer, or a resettable timeframe of your choosing--when you click the Reset button (visible only when viewing the Resettable pane), the statistics counts begin again.
- The types of statistics that are displayed here are dynamically reconfigured depending upon hardware and system settings. As an example, the above pictures the following:
- Percent utilization of link - current, average, peak
- Frame rate in frames / second
- Data rate in bytes / second
- Data content counts: Frames, bytes, Events, Multicast, Broadcast frame
- Unfiltered data counts - Rx and Tx frames without errors, total frames, bytes, multicast and broadcast frames where applicable.
- Frame size breakdown
- Buffer and Errors
- Breakdown of all errors by type (types are automatically configured to match the hardware and system configuration.
- Some of the statistics displays are available as graphs by clicking the graph icon in the upper right corner of the area. In the above picture, Frame Sizes and Errors (breakdown) can be graphed.
